Many a times, we end up administering antibiotics for any outbreak of infection, irrespective of which organism is responsible for the symptoms. The most common example is taking antibiotics for viral infection. In such cases, the ingested antibiotics kill useful bacteria and lead to reduction in the probiotic bacterial population.
Most of the information below is based on information from my large collection of nutrition books, including a chart from a Mayo Clinic diet manual, and also from personal observations. The books I have sometimes vary significantly in how they categorize the pH of different foods, so it can be hard to tell which ones are correct. +

However, antibiotics tend to also kill beneficial bacteria in other places in the body, including the vagina. Killing off this “good” bacteria can create an environment where the “bad” bacteria, usually E. coli, can thrive.
Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change over time and no longer respond to medicines making infections harder to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness and death.
Antibiotic resistant bacteria are bacteria that are not controlled or killed by antibiotics. They are able to survive and even multiply in the presence of an antibiotic. Most infection-causing bacteria can become resistant to at least some antibiotics. Bacteria that are resistant to many antibiotics are known as multi-resistant organisms (MRO).
